Dental Events

Each month at Dental Angels we like to plan a dentistry event.  We started out a couple of years back hosting Practice Manager evenings where we booked a space at a bar in town and got together on a Friday night for a few drinks and a chat about work.  Since then we started to run evenings in Soho where we invite a guest speaker to give a talk about their area of expertise and then have a few drinks afterwards.  The talks give some insight to all kinds of areas of dentistry from emarketing, to new roles in dentistry, to evolving techniques or the business side of running a dental practice.   The events are always free and usually we find a sponsor to help pay for the drinks and a few nibbles.  The evenings are often a great way to learn something useful about dentistry or at very least a good place to network and chat with some like minded people in the industry.

Below are a list of some of the events.  If you are interested in attending any of them, or even sponsoring one contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Description

Wanted to know what Blogging is? More importantly, wanted to know how you can take advantage of blogging in the business world, and to increase sales?

Blogging has changed the way the Internet's content is created. Everyone's blogging - there's even famous bloggers!

Now, businesses and practices of all sizes are using blogging to further develop their existing and potential patient relationships - and you can too.

The advantages of blogging are:
It can help you reach a wide new audience who otherwise may not know about you
Blogging can really help convert potential patients who know about you into real patients
Blogging can better promote your website and improve Search Engine Optimisation
In this seminar, we explore the concept of blogging right from the start. We'll go through how a blog works and state the business case for it.

From there, we'll go through how to set one up and how to write the "perfect" blog.

We talk about the modern day blogging, Twitter and how this can be used to get even more customers!

This seminar is ideal for practices who:
Haven't got a blog
Want to get a blog up and running
Want to increase their website's exposure
Want to know how to write a good blog post

The event is held by Dental Angels and the speaker is Iain Scott from Base Creative.

Would you like to sponsor this event ?  These events are relatively cheap to sponsor, so for the price of a few drinks you can get your company name to some of the top names in the dental industry! email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Chris Barrow Event at Dental Angels

THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED

It's not often you get the opportunity to ask Chris Barrow anything now is it!? We have decided to have an open forum on the night of the 17th of February 2010 where you will have the chance to ask Coach Barrow any career/business related questions you are seeking answers for!!

We will kick off about 6.45pm at the lush venue The Soho Theatre, talk to Chris Barrow for an hour or so then head downstairs for some networking drinks.

Just a smidgen about our special speaker

Chris Barrow has been active as a consultant, trainer and coach to the UK dental profession for over 12 years. He has recently joined Integrated Dental Holdings as Director of Private Sector Development.

Chris combines long experience and deep expertise with the originality and independence needed to resolve the thorniest problems. Naturally direct, assertive and determined, he has the ability to reach conclusions quickly, as well as the sharp reflexes and lightness of touch to innovate, change tack and push boundaries.

Chris spent the first 17 years of his working life in the corporate sector and followed this with 21 years of self-employment. The different dynamics of both worlds have given him the valuable gift of knowing how to operate – and communicate – in both.

In 1987 Chris was active in the establishment of the Institute for Financial Planning, an organisation representing the first fee-based Financial Planners; Chris specialised in working with small businesses.

In 1993 Chris decided to transition from the world of fee-based financial planning to business coaching and became one of the first UK students at Coach University, from where he graduated as a certified coach.

Recognising the opportunity in the dental profession, 1997 saw the creation of The Dental Business School (DBS) and the development of a 12-month business coaching programme for dental practice owners and their teams, delivered to over 400 UK dental practices in the following 10 years.

In October 2008, became Director of Private Sector Development at Integrated Dental Holdings Ltd, the largest dental corporate in the UK.

Nothing appeals to Chris more than something that looks like a lost cause; he loves to fix what seems broken, rekindle what looks extinguished and bring back to life things (and people) which appear forlorn and lifeless.

As a speaker he is dynamic, energetic and charismatic enough to captivate audiences of any size. His style is casual, open and authentic and – being naturally caring and funny – he’s as easy to talk to as he is to listen to. Chris was one of the UK’s first business coaches, which means few others can match his 15 years’ experience. He spends time in Canada too, where he still mentors a group of coaches.

His new role at IDH is to create a division of the company that is made up of dynamic private practices which have been acquired but with principals who still have an interest in the profitability and capital value of their businesses.

Ask Chris what he motivates him, and he’ll say it’s to help people succeed in their lives and businesses more quickly and easily than he did.
